Not spectators, but privileged guests. This is how Andreea Badala wanted the people who participated at the SS 2019 official event to feel. That’s the reason why at the end of the show, when the curtains were opened, it was not she who stepped in front for a final cheer. Instead, the audience was invited backstage, to touch the clothes and meet the MURMUR design team.
Set in the beautiful Palatul Universul, in Bucharest, the event captured Andreea Badala’s conviction that the MURMUR collections need more than a classical catwalk show to be unveiled and enjoyed. She prefers private shows, that put an accent on human interaction and a very special contact with the new designs. In the end, it’s all about closeness and giving the guests time to savour the discoveries.
This season, MURMUR translates sensuality and daring femininity into prêt à porter by focusing on the joys and freedoms of a woman who knows herself. Sinuous lines and effortless refinement, undergarments brought to surface, sheer versus opaque, in a wonderful togetherness – these are key elements of the collection.
“With SS19 I wanted to further clarify the brand manifesto,” Andreea says. “MURMUR is dedicated to modern femininity. The inspiration it draws from lingerie and the process of bringing the underneath on the outside lead to new forms of sensuality.”
Along with the SS19 collection, comes a selection of the most recognizable MURMUR creations, coupled into the Iconic line. Some of the brand’s Signature pieces were adapted as to be easier to wear and maintain, and to match the color palette of the SS19 collection: from milky whites and powdery pinks to striking violet and the darkest black.
